• Lakeport works on new annexation effort (lakeconews.com) — Lakeport officials are advancing a scaled‑down annexation of South Lakeport tied to a new regional water line and major South Main Street roadwork, aiming to add fire hydrants and reliable municipal water to the city’s key commercial corridor. With construction funding lined up and paving expected next fiscal year, the council directed staff to keep pushing the proposal toward formal consideration despite lingering tax and annexation concerns from some business owners.
   

• Mobile home park advocate appeals again for fee moratorium (record-bee.com) — Mobile home residents from North Lakeport and across Lake County are still pressing supervisors for a temporary halt on rent and fee increases after an August vote rejected a short‑term moratorium. Advocates say hundreds of mostly older or fixed‑income residents are already seeing higher costs while they wait for a promised rent stabilization ordinance, and they’re urging the county’s ad hoc committee to finish its draft quickly.
