Camille Bruno: Homebuyers Know More About Kim Kardashian Than Buying

Camille Bruno, PSAR Board Member: Experienced Agents Can Help Buyers With Basics About Homebuying Process, Not Jennifer Lopez's Love Life

The Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (PSAR) recommends home shoppers should learn the basics, including down payment options, pre-approval requirements, credit scores and monthly payment affordability, when considering a home purchase.

A recent Zillow survey said many Americans know more about Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez and other pop-culture celebrities rather than the basics of buying a home.

According to Camille Bruno, 2022 PSAR board member, “The transaction process doesn’t have to be complicated and confusing. Educating clients on how to avoid costly pitfalls is a big part of an agent’s role. Consumers can put themselves in a stronger competitive position by working with experts and learn the basics on their home-shopping journey.”

Camille is in her second year of a two-year term (2022-2023) on the PSAR board of directors.

Camille grew up in San Diego. She graduated from Madison High School in Clairemont (class of 1981). Prior to selling real estate, she worked for 10 years with Campbell Soup Co. as the San Diego representative serving all major grocery stores.

Camille and her family have lived in Chula Vista’s EastLake community since 1988. “It is a wonderful area for families,” she said. “We raised our own family here. All three of our children, Bianca, Dominic and Bella, have attended EastLake schools. I know the area very well.”

She began her real estate sales career in January 2000. “I love serving my clients and helping people with the dream of homeownership,” Camille said. “I’m now serving some of my clients’ children who have grown up.

“Real estate is a demanding job and it takes a lot of patience and understanding,” said Camille. “But, if you love what you do then it’s not a job.”

This is Camille’s second time to serve on the PSAR board. She previously served from 2006 to 2009, including the roles of treasurer and secretary.

Since 2017, Camille has served on the PSAR Grievance Committee. She explained her reasons for returning to the PSAR board.

“When you’re involved with the association, then you learn more and become informed about what’s going on,” said Camille. “Our business is changing on a daily basis. And, you can better serve your clients by becoming as informed as possible. If you’re involved, then you’re better informed.”
