Chess Challenge is for youth 5 years up to adult. The curriculum is designed to teach beginners, and novice players with emphasis on piece movement and development, opening principles, checkmate strategies, and special moves.
Chess has been known to build self-esteem, improves memory and critical thinking skills, increases concentration, and stimulates the mind as no other activity does.
Chess meets Wednesday’s from 6–7 p.m. for nine weeks, beginning April 11 at Fire Station 12.
