La Mesa-Foothills Democractic Club: Guest Speaker Phil Landis

Come listen to Phil Landis, president and CEO of the Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD), talk about U.S. military veterans and the mindset of leaving no one behind.

Some background information on Landis: He enlisted in the Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 as a platoon leader and Headquarters Company Commander with the First Battalion Thirty-Fifth Infantry.

In 1969, Landis was honorably discharged from active duty with the rank of captain.

He became a board member of Veterans Village of San Diego in 1996, and worked his way up to CEO in 2007. He currently serves on the national 12-member Department of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee on Homeless Veterans.
