Lockdown Lifted At Grossmont High School In East County

Grossmont High School was on lockdown Thursday morning due to police activity at the El Cajon campus.

EL CAJON, CA – A lockdown has been lifted at Grossmont High School after police scoured the campus in search of a possible threat to students, district officials said.

El Cajon police combed the 66-acre campus and searched about 20 buildings Thursday morning but were unable to substantiate any threat to students, according to Catherine Martin, spokeswoman for La Mesa-based Grossmont Union High School District. Canine searches were also conducted with assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents during the three-hour lockdown.

The El Cajon school was placed on lockdown sometime before 9 a.m.
