"Home team" Foothillers outscore the Highlanders 15-3 in Tuesday event at Helix courts.
Grossmont High School romped to a 15-3 victory over Helix Charter High School Tuesday afternoon in their first league match of the spring tennis season. The Hillers were the home team, but the match was played at Helix because Grossmont lacks a tennis court—the site of humanities building construction.
Top singles players for Grossmont, coached by Nathan Welden, are Sang Choi, Nick Gumbuyan and Matt Riley. Top doubles players are Neal Cowen and Kyle Petersen, Wilson Sov and Daniel Li, and Adam Davis and Eric Marrujo.
Helix’s top singles players, coached by J. Diaz, are Ryan Chau, Joey Chen and Matthew Rodriguez. Top doubles players are Daniel Berhe and John Stowe, Kevin Huang and Denzel Mapp and John Marshall and Kris Turner.
