Home of Guiding Hands' golf fundraiser was a success

The Home of Guiding Hands (HGH), an El Cajon-based non-profit organization that provides services, training and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities, reports it netted about $52,000 at its recent 32nd annual Golf Classic Pro-Am Tournament.

HGH said the tournament, held Sept. 26 at Sycuan Resort, featured 135 players consisting of 27 teams of amateurs playing with a PGA professional. The professionals competed for a share of a $5,000 purse. This year’s winning team included PGA member Jeff Munak with teammates Jason Wilson, Zach Wilson, Ross Stensrud and Evan Schumacher. The winning team will represent HGH in the Randy Jones Invitational for a chance for a trip to play at Pebble Beach and have $10,000 donated to HGH.

The tournament’s presenting sponsor was the Bill and Norma Verbeck Foundation. Other Golf Classic sponsors included Kerr Family Foundation, the Carlson family, Marrs Maddocks & Associates, Sycuan Casino, Hanken Cono Assad & Co., Inc., Quick Dry Flood Services, Torrey Pines Bank, Al and Elaine Barrack, Chris and Karen Hinman and San Diego County Credit Union.
