My youngest son is 6-years-old and loves it when I'm involved in anything he does, but especially soccer (yes, I know this will all change when he's a teenager). He's even told me, "Nicole, your pretty awesome" after one particularly enjoyable game. I gotta say, that felt pretty good! That's the biggest reason I volunteer for AYSO. That's right… even the Regional Commissioner is a volunteer!

Here's your chance to BE AWESOME too!
We need your help! Our children need your help! AYSO runs on 100% volunteer power. There are 220,000 volunteers around the country making sure everyone plays! AYSO volunteers are mostly parents of current players, but also siblings, grandparents, parents of former players, neighbors and even active players themselves. AYSO volunteers give each child the precious gift of their time.
AYSO's volunteer foundation ensures that it's all about what's good for the kids. It also makes AYSO very affordable to play soccer. AYSO operates in a business manner, but volunteers ensure its "profits" are happy, healthy kids playing a sport they can enjoy for life.
There is an AYSO volunteer opportunity for everyone!
COACH: Every team must have a coach. Most coaches would also LOVE to have an assistant coach! We have free coach training so you don't have to know anything about soccer! Email mvp195979@gmail.com to learn more. If you like the idea of coaching and also coordinating, we need Division Coordinators to help with the team formations and in getting the uniforms to the teams.
REFEREE: The referee's job is to keep the game fun, fair and safe. It's the best way to learn all the rules of soccer. Email john.butcher89ra@cox.net or megandoddlittle@gmail.com to learn more. FIELDS: We maintain several fields in the La Mesa area. Painting lines on the fields every week is the most common parent field job, but we also need help keeping the fields clean and safe. Most of these jobs are easy and require very little training which we provide for free.
OTHER LITTLE JOBS: If you don't want to coach or referee, you can be a team parent, or help the referees by being a club linesman. OTHER BIGGER JOBS: We have a few bigger jobs that do require some specific administration or coordination skills. There are seven board positions (Regional Commissioner, Registrar, Treasurer, Safety Director, Coach Administrator, Referee Administrator and Region Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate or CVPA) as well as other jobs such as Uniform Coordinator, Equipment Coordinator, Coach and Referee Trainers, Assistant Regional Commissioner, Region Administrative Assistant, Team Parent Coordinator, Player Evaluation Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, Publicity Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, etc. As you can see we cannot run this program without you as a volunteer. Please contact us today…
You can find out about these jobs and more by emailing thecommishayso89@gmail.com
Everyone can help in some way. Will you BE AWESOME and help us make our children's soccer experience the best it can be? Please seriously consider it!
Thank you!
