Lanes Reopen On Interstate 8 After Fatal, Fiery Crash

A SigAlert was in effect for about seven hours Sunday as all eastbound lanes were closed.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Lanes have reopened on Interstate 8 following a fiery crash Sunday morning that left one person dead.

A three-vehicle wreck was reported about 4:45 a.m. on the eastbound freeway approaching College Avenue near San Diego State University, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP issued a SigAlert for eastbound Interstate 8 at 5:05 a.m., closing all lanes from Waring Road to College Avenue, along with eastbound 8 onramps from Fairmount Avenue and Mission Gorge Road.

All lanes reopened at noon, according to the CHP.
