Late Sprint Helps Grossmont Girls Defeat Helix

Hillers use late 19-8 run to make double victory possible as boys pulled upset.

The last time these two teams were supposed to play, it never happened. The Helix bus showed up an hour late at Grossmont and the adults couldn’t decide on how long the Highlanders should get to warm up.

It was thus declared a “no contest.”

This game was quite a contest midway through the third quarter when it was tied at 25. But the Foothillers put it away in the final 12 minutes with a 19-8 run to register a 44-33 victory.
