SPRING VALLEY, CA — A 37-year-old man wanted for allegedly violating his parole led police on a brief chase Tuesday in Spring Valley that ended with a couple of crashes and a foot pursuit.
The U.S. Marshals Service requested assistance about 2:25 p.m. from San Diego County sheriff's deputies in apprehending the suspect, David Hernandez of San Diego, who was suspected of violating his parole, according to sheriff's Sgt. Samuel Lizarraga.
Hernandez was spotted in a stolen vehicle at 661 Sweetwater Road in Spring Valley, but when deputies attempted to contact him, Hernandez fled in the vehicle, leading to a 30-second chase that ended when the suspect crashed into two non-involved vehicles, Lizarraga said.

"Hernandez then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended," according to Lizarraga. "Hernandez, along with three citizens, were transported to the hospital with apparent minor injuries."
Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of violating his parole and driving a stolen vehicle.
"During the pursuit, a deputy collided with a third uninvolved vehicle," Lizarraga said. "The sole occupant of that vehicle was not injured and damage to both the sheriff's vehicle and the citizen's vehicle was minor."
