Power Outage Affecting Hundreds In La Mesa

BREAKING: San Diego Gas & Electric is reporting on its outage map that 1,394 customers in and around La Mesa are without power.

LA MESA, CA – About 35,000 homes and business across San Diego County are without power Friday due to storm-related utility equipment problems, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

Among the outages, SDG&E is reporting on its outage map that 1,394 customers in and around La Mesa are without power due to two widespread outages.

The first outage started at 3:03 p.m., affecting 577 customers in La Mesa. The second outage started at 3:18 p.m., affecting 817 customers in La Mesa, Lake Murray, Mission Gorge and Sycamore Canyon. SDG&E does not yet have an estimate of when the power will be restored for either outage.

The severe weather reportedly caused a problem in the electric system causing both outages. No other information is currently available.
