Supervisor Anderson Asking President for U.S. Flag Half-Staff Order
San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson Condemns Violence Against Israel by Hamas, Will Ask President Biden for U.S. Half-Staff Flag Order

San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson has announced he will recommend his colleagues on the Board of Supervisors approve a resolution to honor American lives lost in Israel by asking President Biden to order U.S. flags flown at half-staff.
Anderson said he will recommend the action at the Tuesday, Oct. 24 Board of Supervisors meeting.
“I’m recommending that the County of San Diego officially request President Biden to order all U.S. flags be flown at half-staff in remembrance of the American lives lost during the terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7,” Anderson said. “At least 32 American citizens were reportedly killed during the initial attacks, and there is concern that more American citizens are being held hostage by Hamas at this moment. The County can only fly flags at half-staff following federal guidance, so an order from the President is required.”

“Now more than ever, Americans need to stand strong with Israel and speak out against anti-Semitism both locally and globally,” he said. “The violence enacted by the terrorist organization Hamas against innocent Israeli lives is deplorable and I strongly condemn these violent actions.”
