Supervisor Jacob Appears Headed for Another Term

Early election-night results put incumbent Dianne Jacob in the lead.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA: Incumbent Dianne Jacob appeared headed for another term on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors Tuesday night.

If early results are an indication of how election night will go, Jacob had secured 75.61 percent of votes to Challenger Rudy Reyes' 24.39 percent, with 24 percent of votes counted.

District 2 encompasses the cities of La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Santee, Poway and El Cajon, as well as unincorporated communities such as Ramona and Lakeside.

In other local races, Supervisor Dave Roberts was leading with 39.35 percent of votes in a three-way race for his District 3 seat, with 33.80 percent for Encinitas Mayor Kristin Gaspar and 26.85 percent for Escondido Mayor Sam Abed, with 27.5 percent of  votes counted.

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer had 61.18 percent of the vote in his bid for reelection, compared to 19.89 percent for Lori Saldana and Ed Harris with 18.93 percent, with 30.2 percent of votes counted.

Barbara Bry had nearly 50 percent in the San Diego City Council District 1 race, compared to nearly 34 percent for Ray Ellis.

Proposition I, which would raise the minimum wage and offer five paid sick days to San Diego workers, was passing with support from 62 percent of the voters.
