Taxpayer, Business Groups Will Be Tapped for College Bond Panel

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District looks to fill vacancies in its bond oversight committee.

State budget crisis or not, four vacancies will be filled on the public committee that oversees bond money allocation in the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. An 11-member board works to ensure that what’s left of $207 million from of 2002 is properly spent.

Officials say positions to be filled are a representative from a business organization, a representative from a taxpayers association, a Cuyamaca College Foundation representative and a representative from the San Diego Building & Construction Trades Council.

“This committee has played an invaluable role by serving as the eyes and ears of the community during construction of the projects that have transformed the Grossmont and Cuyamaca campuses,” said Cindy Miles, chancellor of the district.
