WANTED: FBI Seeking Bank Robber; Man Accused Of Robbing 2 Banks In East County San Diego​

LA MESA, CA – The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the San Diego Violent Crimes Task Force are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of robbing two East County San Diego banks in the same week.

The suspect allegedly robbed Cal Coast Credit Union in La Mesa just before noon July 11, according to the FBI. He reportedly gave a teller a handwritten note demanding money at the bank at 8002 La Mesa Boulevard. After he received some cash, he walked out of the bank.

The suspect allegedly robbed a second bank around 10:30 a.m. July 14 in El Cajon, according to the FBI. Again, he reportedly gave a teller at First Citizens Bank at 175 W. Main Street a handwritten note demanding money. He, again, left the bank with cash.

The man is described as a black male, in his 30s, about 6-feet tall and weighing approximately 200 to 225 pounds, according to the FBI. He was dressed in a dark-colored T-shirt, white apron, straw hat, sunglasses and a red backpack at the first robbery. The man was seen wearing a blue and white plaid button-down shirt, dark baseball hat and sunglasses at the second robbery.
