Woman Hit, Robbed Outside La Mesa Denny's
Police later arrested 19-year-old Elvis Rojas of San Diego on suspicion of robbery and attempted carjacking.

LA MESA, CA – Police have arrested a man accused of attacking and robbing a woman Wednesday morning outside of a Denny's restaurant in La Mesa.
According to the La Mesa Police Department, the victim said she was sitting in her vehicle about 2 a.m. outside Denny’s on Spring Street when a man walked up to her and asked for money to buy food.
The woman agreed to help him, but he hit her on the head with metal pipe-like object, police Lt. Chad Bell said. He then grabbed her purse, cellphone and keys, and he tried to steal her vehicle, Bell said.

The suspect fled the scene, but police later arrested 19-year-old Elvis Rojas of San Diego on suspicion of robbery and attempted carjacking.
Medics took the woman to a hospital, where she was treated and later released.
