Burn Victim Found In Backyard Of Moraga House

The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

LAMORINDA, CA — A predawn house fire in Moraga sent one person to the hospital with burns on Monday. A second person suffered smoke inhalation but was not transported to a hospital, according to Moraga-Orinda Firefighters. It was earlier reported that the second person escaped without injury.

According to a printed statement from the Moraga Police Department, the fire victim "was treated at the scene by Moraga-Orinda Fire paramedics and transported to John Muir Medical Center where he is being treated for burns. His condition is unknown." Firefighters report that he was found in the backyard of the home.

The fire was reported at 4:49 a.m. on Archer Circle. The home was fully engulfed in flames with firefighters arrived. Police report, "At least 9 fire engines and crews from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District and the Contra Costa County Fire District responded to the fire and worked to extinguish it. Fire personnel will be on the scene for most of the day to ensure the fire is out and to investigate the cause of the fire."
