An alert resident spotted the suspects breaking into vehicles in the middle of the night and called police.

LAMORINDA, CA —Friday the 13th was an unlucky day for three suspects accused of breaking into vehicles in the Silver Springs area of Lafayette. All three were arrested and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for theft related charges, according to Lafayette Police Chief Ben Alldritt. The suspects are all from Hayward.

A resident called police at 2:40 a.m. to report that the break-ins were happening on Solana Court. Officers responded and immediately detained two suspects. A Sheriff’s Office K9 helped officers search the area, leading to the third arrest.

In a printed statement, Alldritt reports that the trio's vehicle was located and towed for evidence.
