Are You Seeing Smoke In Moraga?

LAMORINDA, CA — Residents of Moraga, Orinda and Lafayette may see smoke on Friday as a result of a controlled burn planned by the Moraga-Orinda Fire District.

The burn is being conducted at the John Muir Land Trust property at Painted Rock, above Moraga Road and Rheem Boulevard.

Operations will end no later than 5 p.m.

While reducing the amount of flammable fuels in the area, the project also provides training for firefighters.

The fire department is coordinating with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and Fire Weather Forecasters at the National Weather Service.
