Assistance League Way Side Inn Thrift Shop’s “Fangtastic Hallooooween” Haunts the Valley!

You'll "barely" get your foot in the door during this event!

The “dead-icated” member volunteers at Assistance League® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way, in Lafayette, caution you that this year’s “Fangtastic Hallooooween” Merchandise and Costumes event will approach an out-of-body experience. Write this date down (not necessarily in blood): Tuesday, September 27, 10 a.m. sharp. You’ll want to get “a head” of the crowd with an early “start” for this one-stop shopping encounter. Legend has it that one timid soul did not heed this advice; she just didn’t have her heart in it--a grave situation, indeed!

But enough spineless sentimentality—gruesome festivities await. Pumpkin lovers will delight in the selection of handblown glass, metal and ceramic “goreds.” Themed lights, lurking witches, spiders and skeletons will assuredly beckon from on high to unsuspecting cats, rats and bats alike. You’ll also unearth paper goods, centerpieces, candles, jack-o’-lanterns and platters to create that elusive crypt-like ambience. Surely, you’ll want to invite your fiends in for a bite and perhaps a vial of “ghoul aid.” (Unfortunately, last year’s ladyfingers did not freeze at all well.)

You’ll also want to breathe life into that perfect Halloween costume that separates you—from others. Disguises will include ballerinas and princesses, dinosaurs and monsters, as well as spacemen and Star Wars characters. That many times overlooked getup that urges you just to go out and “boogie” the night away will also be “on hand.” Accessories such as witch’s hats, masks and wigs (some of the latter almost lifelike, but don’t ask any questions) will complete your Halloween misadventure.
