"Calendaring" Kid's Summer Activities

how to coordinate all the kids activities during the summer. Who needs to be where and when? I use a giant family calendar, so everyone can see what's happening.

Is "calendaring" a verb in your house too?  I know most people have already done this...but has taken me this long to collect and get down on paper all that the kids are doing this summer.  I have to set aside a big chunk of time to sit down and "calendar".  Each kid's activity is a different color, etc. the usual stuff.  It takes a while to do it all, but once it's done, it's solidified on paper and in my mind.  I can usually recall most things if I write them down first.  I am holding out on the iphone calendar; just because.  I hate to think how lost i would be if i ever lost....IT!  Which if you know me; is a significant possiblilty...so the giant family calendar on the wall is what works for us for the summer.

With the summer calendar comes our annual SUMMER WISH LIST~here's what ours looks like so far....Can you tell which ones I wrote? (chess; no TV, cleaning..) we aren't done, these are just the first thoughts that came to mind the other morning.  I love the no fighting one (even sunblock!) written by my daughter! (This, after I chased her and her older sister around the kitchen with hands full of sunblock!)

Here are some creative people's lists of things to do in the summer.

Here's what my summer wish list would look like:

...lots of sleeping and reading......but i realize, this is about as plausible as the no fighting about sunblock wish:)
