Celebrate Carnival on Sunday, February 7 at 9:30 a.m.

Join us for a Festival service, celebrating Carnival with jazz, food, reflection, and special kids' activities.

Join us at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for a festival service celebrating Carnival. This festival builds on the traditions of New Orleans, where jazz bands lead street parades to celebrate life and to hold the sadness of loss. The service includes:

* kids’ activities: decorating a Carnival float, decorating their own Mardi Gras mask, making apple buttermilk beignets (a New Orleans classic) and participating in our King Cake parade. Kids will also receive a short reflection guide to foster discussion at home.

* mask art project: you will spend a few moments reflecting on the multi-faceted nature of your life and create a mask that reflects you and how the holy is woven into every aspect of your life.

* music: we welcome the Jambalaya Jazz Band for music during the service, and afterwards, if you want to practice your dance moves.

* food: we’ll have king cake, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and beignets after the service, and a special coronation for the person who finds the baby hidden in their slice of cake.
