Claim Filed Over Lafayette Cyclist Roundabout Death
Shami died in April when he was hit in a Lafayette roundabout.
LAMORINDA, CA — A legal claim has been filed over the death of bicyclist Joe Shami, who was killed in the roundabout at Olympic Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road in April, according to a report by the Bay Area News Group.
Shami's bother is asking the City of Lafayette for at least $25,000 because of alleged design flaws that contributed to the crash.
Legal claims are often precursors to lawsuits.
