Dinner -- Straight From the Garden

We cruise the aisles of our backyard garden and came up with fare for the groaning board.

Followers of this site may know that we have been and growing methods lately to see what pops up in the raised beds -- and if we can eat it.

She Who got really quiet, as she does when she is about to make something happen, and pretty soon the sound of dicing and Cuisinarting could be heard, in between muffled exultations and "Oh, that's soooo good" mini-reviews as she sampled our home-grown product line.

Anyway, about forty minutes after her trip to the garden I was treated to a plate of pasta a la She Who and wow, it was a joy. Why do things taste so much better when you grow them yourself? I don't know of any scientific reason but last night's dinner made all that hoeing and tilling and watering I've been doing worth it.

The recipe for last night's fare was made up by the chef as she went along, and will likely be kept and modified and improved upon for our next garden dinner, but if you have any favorite recipes, drop them in the comments section so we -- and the readership -- can give them a whirl.
