Tree Cleared; St. Mary's Road Reopens In Lafayette

The downed tree blocked an intersection Monday morning.

LAFAYETTE, CA – A tree that fell this morning blocking an intersection along St. Mary's Road in Lafayette was removed, and the roadways has reopened.

The Lafayette Police Department announced the update at approximately 9 a.m.

St. Mary's Road at Camino Colorados is closed this morning due a downed tree, and motorists are asked to avoid the area, according to police.

It is expected to take several hours to remove the large tree that fell across the roadway and is blocking the intersection, the Lafayette Police Department said at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Authorities recommend drivers use alternate routes.
