Driver Dies In Orinda Crash As SUV Veers Off Highway 24
The fatal collision was reported shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday near Camino Pablo.
ORINDA, CA — A driver died Wednesday in a crash off state Highway 24 in Orinda, the California Highway Patrol said.
The fatal collision was first reported at 6:05 p.m. on eastbound SR-24 near the Camino Pablo overcrossing.
The driver was traveling eastbound in a Ford Explorer when the SUV left the roadway and collided with a tree, the CHP said.

CHP officers and emergency medical personnel responded but the man's injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending the notification of his family members by the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
No other cars were involved and there were no passengers in the SUV.
