A spring Senior Health and Information Faire will be held at the Hacienda de las Flores (2100 Donald Drive) in Moraga on Tuesday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m.
The 4th Annual Moraga Senior Faire, organized by Senior Helpers of Contra Costa and co-sponsored by the Moraga Recreation Department, will feature presentations on the impact of the senior demographic in an election year, the newest electronic gadgets for home safety, a free telephone program connectiong California elders through activities and interests, and living better after age 50 through physical and cognitive exercise.
The faire is free and will include complimentary food and refreshments provided by Sweet Tomatoes and Aegis of Moraga Assisted Living. Reservations can be made by calling Senior Helpers at 925-376-9900.

In addition to the presentations, there will be information available from loval resources such as the Diablo Foundation for the Aging, the Orinda Convalescent Hospital, Hospice of the East Bay, Manor Care, Rheem Valley Convalescent Hospital, Halo Medical Alert Systems and others.
Among those scheduled to speak at the event is Professor Steve Woolpert, Dean of St. Mary's School of Liberal Arts. He will discuss the impact of the senior voting block in an election year and implications of the upcoming Supreme Court decision on the new health care law.

Other Speakers include Julie Meneck, the manager of 21st Century Care Solutions. She will demonstrate the newest electronic gadgets which enhance safety for seniors, including GPS location devices, seat alert notification systems, motion detectors and more.
Patricia Reilly will present a program called Senior Center Without Walls, sponsored by the Episcopol Senior Communities. This program is a free telephone program connecting California elders through activities, friendship, and community.
Pam Whitman is a licensed instructor and practioner of Brain Gym who lives in Walnut Creek. Brain Gym is an internationally acclaimed system of specific, simple, targeted integrative movements and proccesses. It builds, enhances, and resores natural neural pathways in the body and brain to assist natural, easy learning.
