The Scarlet Empress - Marlene Dietrich stars in this 1934 film as Sophia Frederica, a young German princess who uses her cunning and sexual prowess to seize Russia's throne from her ineffective husband, Peter (Sam Jaffe), and rule the land as Catherine the Great.
The film will be hosted by movie buff James Keller, who will provide an engaging introduction and then share the Hollywood "back story" following the film.
