Get-in-Free Day Coming Up at Lindsay Wildlife
Take advantage as the East Bay museum & education center highlights conservation and the proposed California Wildlife Day!

WALNUT CREEK, CA – To show support for an annual state wildlife day, the Lindsay Wildlife Experience will be open Monday, March 20—a day the center is normally closed—to provide free access to education on California native wildlife to children and adults.
Lindsay is opening its doors to show support for wildlife conservation and Senate Concurrent Resolution 23, by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), that calls on the establishment of California Wildlife Day -- an annual recognition to fall on the spring equinox, which this year is March 20, 2017. The point of the day is to
advance the preservation and protection of California lands for future generations through public education about native plants and animals, Monning said when introducing the bill.
Education about the state’s ecosystem, and how to protect wildlife is at the core of Lindsay’s mission and has been for more than 60 years.

“The state of the environment is a reflection of the minds of the people who inhabit it,” said Lindsay Wildlife Executive Director Cheryl McCormick. “We are thrilled that California lawmakers are taking the lead in recognizing the intrinsic and economic value of wildlife conservation. Other states will likely follow suit, and there’s never been a more important time to protect what we value.”
On March 20, Lindsay will open at 10 a.m. with specialized programs focused on state endangered species and those endemic to California, with wildlife crafts and games for children, and opportunities for adults and children to advocate for the protection of wildlife, as well as the environment.
