Halloween Night Home Invasion: Lafayette Resident Hospitalized

The victims' BMW was later found abandoned in Oakland.

LAMORINDA, CA — Two Lafayette residents were injured on Halloween night during a home invasion robbery, with one of the residents transported to a hospital for treatment, according to a sheriff's office spokesman. The other suffered minor injuries.

The crime began at around 8:30 p.m. with a knock on the door at a home in the 1300 block of Martino Road — something not unusual on Halloween night.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, "The incident involved three suspects who were armed with a pistol. One suspect apparently knocked on the front door, while two others hid. When a resident opened the door, he was assaulted and forced back inside."
