Lafayette Burglary Suspects: Police Release Photos
Police believe the men are from the Oakland area and have processed a vehicle they think was used by the burglars. (Breaking)

LAMORINDA, CA — Lafayette Police have released photos of two men they say burglarized a home on Tuesday. Several computers and tablets were stolen, according to the homeowner.
The home is located in the 900 block of Acalanes Road. The homeowner's security system detected the sound of glass breaking in the home. When the resident checked the video image from his security camera, he saw two individuals inside his home climbing the staircase.
He called police. LPD officers were dispatched at 10:39 a.m. and arrived a few minutes later. They found the front door of the home open. A window near the front door was broken. Officers searched the home but the suspects were not inside.

When the resident arrived at the home, officers learned that he had left the home around 10:20 a.m. to do some errands and had secured the home completely before leaving.
CSI personnel responded to the scene and processed the home for evidence. In a statement, Lafayette Police said, "CSI personnel were able to recover several latent prints from the interior of the home and the glass from the window was taken to determine if the suspects had injured themselves while crawling through the broken window (leaving blood or tissue behind). CSI personnel were also able to collect several DNA samples from the scene."

At one point during the burglary, one of the suspects saw the security camera and disabled it. The camera was taken by the suspects, according to police.
Images from the video were sent to other law enforcement agencies. An Orinda Officer had responded to a suspicious circumstance report in about an hour prior. A resident had seen a strange vehicle driving slowly in their neighborhood and reported it to OPD. The neighbor stopped the vehicle and spoke with the two occupants who reported to be "lost" and looking for the freeway.
LPD Investigators showed the photos of the suspects to the Orinda resident, who positively identified them as the men he had spoken to earlier. He told investigators that the suspects were driving a newer, grey Chrysler mini-van.
Lafayette Police tracked down video of the van and traced it to a rental company. The Oakland man who rented it was not depicted in the security photos. He told police that he had lent the van to a man who he only knew by his street name.
Lafayette Police processed the vehicle for prints and other information. A Nest video camera, believed to have been stolen from the burglarized home, was recovered from the van.

The suspects have not been arrested.
