
The Lamorinda Monarchs defeated Los Tomateros de California of Paramount by a score of 2-1 to win the Championship Cup at the Third Annual New Era National Youth Baseball Championship at Gameday Baseball's First Tennessee Fields in Memphis.
With two out in the bottom of the final inning, Los Tomateros had a runner on side before Nico Hoerner, the game's most valuable player, retired the side.
The 12-and-Under Division Monarchs earned a trip to Memphis by winning the Amateur Athletic Union baseball championship. Los Tomateros are the United States Specialty Sports Association champs.

Hoerner, the game's MVP, drove both of his teams runs and held the opposition to one run while pitching a complete game in the Sunday night matchup.
