Lamorinda's Football Players Slinging Pizza? Sounds Like a Photo Op To Us!

Looks like Patch Marketing has been at it again. Check out the Bonfire Pizza Challenge. Sounds like a cross between "Chopped" and the "ESPN Zone."

It seems those madcap youngsters in Patch Marketing have teamed up with Adam Sall, Justin Bain and Ryan Mason over at and come up with a unique way to have some fun and benefit local schools at the same time.

Bonfire launched its "50 Yard Challenge" Thursday - an apparent hybrid of the popular Food Network show "Chopped" and the sporty, grillin' and chillin' style of the ESPN Zone.

They're putting out the word to the coaches of each of Lamorinda's three high schools - ,, and - and requesting they send five of their best Player/Chefs around to Bonfire on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The lucky 15 will go head-to-head in a pizza making challenge, their pies baked in the Bonfire kitchen and a winner declared by three impartial, local judges.

The Grillin' Gridiron Team that comes out on top earns $500 for their school. And then, yeah, I guess they get to eat their creations. Sounds kinda fun and Patch will be on hand with some freebies and a photographer to record the occasion.
