Much has been written about the juggernaut that is the Mats Varsity Girls Water Polo team this fall. Not to be outdone, the Mats JV Girls team is on a roll of their own. The numbers speak for themselves: Undefeated at 20-0 for the season and champions of all tournaments entered, (Acalanes Invitational, Napa Crusher Classic, and Western States High School Championships).
Freshman Courtney Coleman shared, “We work hard, but we never forget to have fun! I couldn’t ask for a better team or coach.”
First-year coach Andy LaVelle credits the “unbelievable teamwork shown by all players and how they support one another” for their ongoing success.

The unstoppable Mats JV team is stacked with experience, as many play on top-tier club teams throughout the year. Freshman Reese Whipple agrees, “Not only do we get along well, but we are all talented and experienced players. I’m excited for the next several years at Miramonte.”
Sophomore Ava Bartosiewicz summed it up, “I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Everyone on the team contributed to our winning streak. I hope Coach Andy brings dry clothes to the DAL JV Invitational, if we win, he’s going in the water!”
