Moraga PD: A Diving Trip Ruined

April 3
Diving trip ruined. Between noon and 2 p.m., a man was loading diving and fishing gear into his Toyota RAV4 in his driveway on Lakefield Place. When he arrived the next day in Santa Barbara, he realized a spear gun valued at $1,000 was missing, and probably was stolen from his driveway while he left the Toyota unattended. Nothing else was reported missing to Moraga police.

Didn't go far. Reported to Moraga police at 11:13 p.m., a 17-year-old boy shoplifted a case of beer from Safeway and police contacted him in the parking lot between Safeway and Wells Fargo Bank. The teen was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and commercial burglary, police reported, and released to a parent.

April 4
Phantom rocks. At 6:33 p.m., the driver reported two juveniles had thrown rocks at her Lexus as she drove by on Camino Pablo. Officers confirmed that the juveniles had pretended to throw rocks and no crime had occurred.

April 5
Party Jeep. Around 2:50 p.m., an officer pulled over a Jeep on Camino Pablo at Canyon Road on suspicion of failure to obey roadway markings. The officer found inside the Jeep marijuana, two bongs and an unopened can of beer. The driver was issued citations for under 21 years old with alcohol in vehicle and not in possession of a driver license. Two passengers were issued citations for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The pot was confiscated, tested, weighed, photographed and booked into evidence.

April 6
Hit-and-run? Officers are investigating as a possible hit-and-run a parked Chevy Tahoe that sustained some damage at Camino Ricardo and Corliss Drive. "Though investigation, the officer discovered that the vehicle was hit by a 17-year-old driver from Moraga the night before," police reported. "The driver said he had left a note, but no note was found at the location."
