Mystery of the Marquee Solved: She Said "Yes!"

Our story thus far:

Last week you remember a "Seen Around Lamorinda" posting featuring the glorious old Park Theatre marquee emblazoned with a prom request from "Gabe" for "Hannah."

We chalked the story up to a passerby with a romantic streak (it was actually City Manager Steven Falk, a born romantic) and wondered how the non-Facebooked request turned out as Patchers applauded the suitor for his approach.

Patchers piled on, and soon we were getting the question from all corners, online and offline, as readers asked if Hannah said "yes."

Turns out, she did.

Monday morning we open our "in-box" to find this note from Hannah Barnes, and you'll all be happy to know our story has a happy ending.

"I just saw your picture of Gabe Newman asking me to prom," Hannah wrote. "I wanted to tell you I did say yes and we have been going out for almost 6 months. I will definitely send you some pictures from prom! He blindfolded me and surprised me with it last weekend. Here's some pictures of him asking me."

The photo is a little dark but that's cool, we don't want to pry. Patchers will be glad to know this little story had a happy ending -- and we give our best to this young couple.
