Plane Makes Safe Landing Near Lafayette Reservoir: Photos

LAMORINDA, CA — A small plane made an emergency landing in a field near Lafayette Reservoir on Friday.

The pilot, who was the only person aboard the aircraft, was not injured, and the plane was not damaged.

The field is East Bay Municipal Utility District land,

A series of photos were shared by the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department.

"The preliminary investigation was handled by EBRPD Police," the department said on social media, "who provide law enforcement services to EBMUD watershed areas. Further follow up will be conducted as needed by the NTSB and the FAA."

The initial word is that the plane ran out of fuel.
