Saint Mary's Adjusting Its Intramural Field Lights; Talking With Neighbors

Complaints and concerns expressed by homeowners over the powerful bank of field lights overlooking the Saint Mary's College intramural field and, as it turned out, homes in The Bluffs - are being addressed.

Town Manager Jill Keimach said Saint Mary's College has made adjustments to the powerful bank of sports lights lighting its intramural field after complaints by homeowners who said they were staying on much later than mandated and creating light pollution problems in adjacent neighborhoods.

Keimach reported in her "About Town" newsletter that college officials made the adjustments and started using the "adjusted" lights on Sept. 10. College officials are also meeting with neighbors and neighborhood groups to review their adjustments, Keimach said.
