Description:
Prospective and current students need to know that they can pay for their graduate studies without risking their financial security in the future. The days of fully-funded scholarships or even subsidized loans for graduate study are long past. Today’s graduate student must consider a portfolio of diversified funding options- scholarships, grants, assistantships, unsubsidized loans, veterans’ benefits, and loan forgiveness programs. Securing the funds necessary to attend graduate school requires planning, both in advance and ongoing. Students must pay just as much attention to their finances as they do to their program of study. Decisions that they make today will have a long-lasting impact on their lives. This presentation examines the breadth of funding options to be explored, financial literacy, loan repayment options, and the opportunity for loan forgiveness.
