6 Teens, 2 Adults Arrested With Stolen Cars In Corte Madera

CORTE MADRA, CA – Eight people, including six teenagers, were arrested with a pair of stolen cars Thursday in Corte Madera, police said.

The incident occurred at 11 a.m. at the Village at Corte Madera, according to Central Marin Police. A security officer called police after seeing the suspects, ranging in age from 14 to 18, emerge from two cars, one of which was left running, and walk through the mall in hooded sweaters despite hot temperatures. Police also received a call from the manager of the Apple Store, who reported that the subjects matched the descriptions of those involved in previous crimes at Apple Stores in the Bay Area.

The suspects were intercepted by police after they returned to the cars. Officers determined that the Honda Accord left running had been stolen in Hayward, police said. The other car, a Nissan Sentra, belonged to a rental company in Vallejo and was overdue.

According to Central Marin Police, the juveniles were arrested or cited for various charges, including suspicion of possessing stolen property, possessing burglary tools, providing false information to a police officer, and driving without a license. Two of the 14 year-olds also had misdemeanor warrants for violation of probation, failure to appear, and disabling a court-ordered GPS monitoring device.

The 17 year-old was cited and released to a parent, while the remaining five juveniles were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.

The two adults, Robert Brady, 18, and Daiven Rice, 18, were arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. Brady was also charged for allegedly possessing burglary tools. Both were booked into Marin County Jail.
