This talk will summarize significant developments in the treatment of diabetes since the discovery of insulin a hundred years ago. Based on his vast research and clinical experience, Dr. Jay Skyler will share his perspective on the future of diabetes management, care, medications, monitoring and outcomes. This presentation will be informative for anyone who has been diagnosed with diabetes, regardless of the type.

Meet Our Speaker — Jay S. Skyler, MD, MACP, FRCP

Dr. Jay S. Skyler is Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics, & Psychology, Division of Endocrinology Diabetes & Metabolism, and Deputy Director for Clinical Research and Academic Programs at the Diabetes Research Institute, both at University of Miami. He served 22 years as Study Chairman for the NIH Diabetes Prevention Trial for T1D (DPT-1) and its successor, T1D TrialNet. Formerly President of ADA and Vice-President of IDF, Dr. Skyler was founding Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Care.
