MARIN COUNTY, CA – A traffic stop in Fairfield Wednesday led to the arrest of a Berkeley man who is suspected of trying to rob a Corte Madera bank last month, the Central Marin Police Authority said.
The attempted robbery occurred Feb. 28 at the First Community Bank inside the Safeway store in the Corte Madera Town Center. The robber fled in a red vehicle but witnesses were able to get its license plate, police said.
Through a check of records of license plate readers in the Bay Area and contacts that local law enforcement agencies had with the vehicle, investigators identified Dandre Chandler Lee Young, 25, of Berkeley as the
robbery suspect.

Central Marin Police Authority investigators interviewed Young at the CHP office in Fairfield while other CMPA officers searched Young's house.
Officers found the vehicle that was seen leaving the attempted bank robbery at Young's residence and he was booked in the Marin County Jail under $250,000 bail for felony burglary and attempted robbery. His occupation in the jail booking log is listed as security guard.
The Central Marin Police Authority is working with other law enforcement agencies in the Bay Area to determine if Young is a suspect in other similar crimes.
