CHP: Felon Leads Authorities on Highway 101 Pursuit in Marin

California Highway Patrol officials say one man was arrested-- but another got away-- in connection to the incident.

California Highway Patrol officers arrested a Vallejo man on suspicion of possessing weapons after a pursuit early Sunday morning.

The pursuit began in Mill Valley around 3:20 a.m. when CHP officers saw a black Nissan Altima without a rear license plate driving 80 mph in a 55 mph zone on southbound U.S. Highway 101 north of Seminary Drive.

The officers tried to stop the vehicle on southbound Highway 101 in Marin City, but the driver kept going until eventually he stopped in a parking lot on Cole Drive, according to the CHP.

The driver, identified as Lebraun Tyree Wallace, 25, of Vallejo, and a passenger fled on foot, the CHP said. The officers caught Wallace but the passenger escaped.

Wallace was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a concealed firearm, an assault weapon and a high-capacity magazine, as well as possession of a controlled substance.
