CHP Looking for Senior Volunteers in Marin
The volunteers could serve in administration, public affairs or ride along with uniformed officers.

MARIN COUNTY, CA -- The Marin County office of the California Highway Patrol is looking for people to join its Senior Volunteers Program.
The volunteers may serve in administration, public affairs or ride-along with uniformed officers. They also may use a CHP vehicle to monitor traffic control or bring a CHP vehicle in for mechanical servicing.
It's an opportunity to help the CHP enhance public service to the community, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Applicants must be 55 or older, be able to work a minimum of four hours a week, pass a background check, have a good driving record and complete a training program. Proficiency with computers and internet-based programs is desired.
The Senior Volunteer Program presents an understanding and appreciation of the justice system, human relations and ethics in law enforcement, Barclay said.
