Cricket...in Marin?

Hi everyone, We just wanted to welcome & invite you down to watch a game of cricket at Piper Park.

Now you may ask yourself, cricket?...what's that?.

Good question.

Little did you know we have been playing cricket in Larkspur for best part of 30+ years at Piper Park. It's different, it's fun, and it's definitely worth a visit to check it out and see exactly how the game is played.

It would take far to long to describe, but just to tease you...we usually play most Saturdays and Sunday from April to October, and a standard game lasts around 6 hrs...I know, you're in the car already!

But it really is a great hour, day of watching, and if you are smart bring a small snack or two to make the time pass. Once you are there I'm sure you'll quickly soak up the atmosphere and excitement from the game.

And it's not just your regular old baseball...although we do play with a bat and ball, that's about a close as we get.

No gloves for the fielders, and you only get one at bat in a game...see I've already said too much!

So plan a day and come out and watch some cricket.

A couple of upcoming dates to put on the calendar:

Saturday July 30th- New York Life T20 Tournament- teams from Sri Lanka, India, Zimbabwe, Napa Valley & Rest of The World will battle for the T20 trophy. Start time 11am - 6pm

Saturday August 27th- England Vs Australia- our version of The Ashes, a storied cricket rivalry. Hosted by both the British American Business Council and the Australian Chamber of Commerce.

And you can find out more about the Marin Cricket Club and our schedule of games at www.marincricketclub.com

We look forward to seeing you at Piper Park.

Sincerely
Nick Lynam

Chairman, Marin Cricket Club
