Cyclist Killed On Hwy 101 Near Corte Madera ID'd

The Marin County resident reportedly was weaving across lanes before being fatally struck by several vehicles, authorities said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – A bicyclist killed Saturday after being struck by several vehicles on southbound U.S. Highway 101 was identified by the coroner's office as Anthony Letigre, 42, of Greenbrae, according to authorities.

Calls to 911 at about 7:30 p.m. reported the man was riding a bicycle across all five southbound lanes at the Madera Boulevard exit ramp in Corte Madera, the California Highway Patrol said.

Letigre was struck by multiple vehicles, whose drivers stopped and remained at the accident site, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said.

Paramedics pronounced Letigre dead at the scene, and the collision investigation closed all southbound lanes of Highway 101 with vehicles exiting the highway at Madera Boulevard, according to the CHP.

A forensic post-mortem examination and toxicology testing are scheduled for later this week, deputies said.
