NT Live "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time"

Theater lovers have a second chance to see the NT Live Play that interim Lark Theater Director Ellie Mednick calls “ A moment of brilliance.”

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Based on Mark Haddon's best-selling book of the same name about a brilliant boy with Asperger Syndrome and his investigation of a dog murder. The production opens with Christopher, fifteen years old, standing beside Mrs Shears' dead dog, Wellington.  It is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in his book to solve the mystery. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, yet he sets to work to solve the crime. Michael Coveney of The Independent (UK) says, "This is a profoundly moving play about adolescence, fractured families, mathematics, colours and lights."

“…done with enormous flair…A remarkable performance form Luke Treadaway captures all the hero’s zeal, obduracy and terror tactile contact, and pins down behavioral qualities all of us, at some point, see in ourselves…a highly skilled adaptation  -  ••••The Guardian

“…intensely, innately theatrical…funny and extremely moving…” The Telegraph
