Felon Found With Stolen, Loaded Gun In Larkspur: Sheriff

Sheriff's officials said Emani Kijonni Gordon, 22, of Marin City, was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 101 in Larkspur.

LARKSPUR, CA – A man was arrested early Sunday morning in Larkspur on suspicion of possessing a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a weapon, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's officials said Emani Kijonni Gordon, 22, of Marin City, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on southbound Highway 101 at Lucky Drive after a deputy spotted a mechanical violation in the vehicle he was riding in. It is unclear if he was the driver.

According to sheriff's officials, the deputy allegedly smelled marijuana, which led to a search of the vehicle. Sheriff's officials said a .45-caliber Glock handgun with a high-capacity magazine loaded with nine rounds was found underneath the front-passenger seat.

Gordon claimed ownership of the weapon, but it was unclear, according to sheriff's officials, if he is the actual owner of the gun. An investigation is underway to find out who is the true owner of the handgun, sheriff's officials said.

Gordon was booked into Marin County Jail. He is being held on $20,000 bail.
