Goose Knocks Down Power Lines, Sparks Fire In Corte Madera
The goose flew into the power lines along Highway 101, between Paradise and Lucky drives in Corte Madera, the CHP said.
CORTE MADERA, CA – A small fire sparked Tuesday morning after a goose knocked down power lines on Highway 101 in Corte Madera, according to the California Highway Patrol's Marin Office.
The goose flew into the power lines between Paradise and Lucky drives in Corte Madera, knocking the power lines down onto the roadway, the CHP said. As of 6:30 a.m., the roadway was clear but the the power lines were still energized and a small brush fire sparked on the freeway shoulder.
Crews from Pacific Gas and Electric Company were en route to the scene to turn off the power so firefighters could extinguish the flames.
